Is It Not Time That GPs Were Also Forced To Declare Their Perks?
A drug company rep has told me that his company paid for a group of GPs to have a jolly at a casino in France and paid for their stakes so that they would use their drug. He said GPs perks read like the Generation Game conveyor belt. As GPs are paid from the public purse I feel it’s time that had to declare their extra perks, what do you think?.
Of course it is and then perhaps their exorbitant salaries, which are paid for from the public purse, could be reduced. It also concerns me that they may promote the wrong drug for their patients simply to get the perks. We have all heard the horror stories about Doctors prescribing the wrong drugs, is this where it stems from?. Let’s have a list published by the BMA so we can make our own minds up.
